Here are some recommended blogs and pages that I visit regularly, if not daily.

Content Criteria

We follow Twitter, several blogs, news services, and other sources for these posts. Our general criteria is to let you know about upcoming legislation, and new laws and regulations that are significant. We'll also throw in a dash of miscellaneous interesting stuff - like people going to jail for sales taxes (which is just stupid).

This blog is oriented around sales and use taxes in the US. We don't cover any other countries or US territories. And, just for the hell of it, we'll sometimes cover other taxes, like tobacco, fuel and telecommunications. But mostly, sales and use taxes.

We probably won't cover:

local issues, unless it's a BIG jurisdiction;

letters to the editors, and editorials and opinions by clueless politicians and journalists, unless they're eminently mockable or amazingly insightful;

information on software, unless they want to pay us for the advertising - which we highly encourage;

news that isn't related to what's taxable and what's not;

sales tax holidays - I mean, c'mon;

proposals for legislation, unless it is really big and comes from the state's political leadership;

basic articles on topics we've thoroughly covered in the past unless it adds some fresh insight;

and if the article is behind a pay-wall or registration page, we probably won't link
